In Zenith vs City of Portland, the Oregon Land Use Board of Appeals determined that Zenith’s 2021 LUCS decision was a quasi-judicial decision, meaning that this LUCS decision should have included public involvement in line with the Portland City Code, chapter 33 , section 730. Why was this ignored? How will you remedy this?
I strongly urge you to meet with people from the climate justice activist community and especially from the youth activists. There are many very well informed, strong climate activists who are still in High School. Meet with them, and really, really listen to them. Your predecessor failed in this area…
his climate workplan must be improved before the actual vote on August 24. Then make it happen, with funding and cooperation.
For the sake of future generations and all the others we share this planet with you must do what your document starts with and act like we are living in a climate emergency, but really act, backed with big chunks of the budget, not teeny-tiny crumbs.
