If you haven’t checked out our Climate Information Resources page, now is the time! This continuously updated library is a collection of everything you need to keep up to date with climate science and the movement as a whole.

Various sections include:

  • Climate Science
  • The Extinction Rebellion Movement with links to XR US and XR Global
  • The Extinction Crisis
  • Portland’s Climate Emergency Declaration
  • XRPDX Official Statements
  • XRPDX in the News

Of particular interest this week:

A video featuring climate scientists Susan Natali and William Moomaw, with Greta Thunberg and the Dalai Lama, focusing on the frightening but crucial topic of climate feedback loops.

After that is a link to 5 short videos explaining feedback loops in the Arctic, the atmosphere, and forests, plus permafrost melt and the albedo effect. All these videos are free to watch and share, and could start some interesting discussions in your family or community.

If you have ideas of what you’d like to see on this Resources webpage, please email media@xrpdx.org with your suggestions!

About XRPDX

Extinction Rebellion in Portland, Oregon – XRPDX – is a local chapter in the international Extinction Rebellion movement. XRPDX organizes people in the Portland, Oregon Metro area: By taking action (online and in person) to resist fossil fuel infrastructure and educate the broader public about the climate emergency. We support our allies in social justice struggles by spreading the word through a bimonthly newsletter; a website and blog and social media channels. We are building a supportive activist culture of appreciation and skill-sharing. We share a love of the natural world and a vision of a more just and equitable world.
