Well Being Workshop Commitments

At the NO Kings Civic Action Fair on February 7, 2026, XRPDX had a workshop on imagining a Well Being Economy. Participants were asked to imagine a Portland they would like to live in then broke info one of five stations: transportion, labor, food production, clean energy or embracing nature where ideas were generated. At the end of the workshop, participants were asked to submit a commitment. Below is the list of commitments that people made.

  • I commit to – connecting with neighbors about sharing garden excess produce, etc.
  • Switching from independent to dem, so I can help organize my neighborhood.
  • Talk about it! National General Strike! Attend meetings for 3 groups new to you. Share what I saw here with activists in other states. Make 1 lifestyle change to support nature
  • Volunteer w/community gardening nonprofit. Explore feasibility of closing neighborhood streets to cars.
  • I want to investigate these web sites and find one climate organization I can be involved in. Decentralize website.
  • Look into “adopt one block” to help clean up my neighborhood.
  • I can’t think on the spot. Help create meaningful work.
  • Contact Portland fruit tree org to discuss opportunity for them to come to property. Seeking to steward land in more helpful ways.
  • I am going to adopt my neighborhood block to pick up trash!
  • Look into the clean energy resources listed. Revisit how resources can impact projects in the landscape architecture field.
  • I’m going to divest from big tech and make more effort to support local. I’m trying to quit my tech job and get back to nonprofits.
  • I’m going to look up XRPDX, looks interesting!
  • I am going to work to try to advise on future bonds to include energy performance in the building market.
  • Refuse to build a server farm.
  • Connect with a sustainable food production movement.
  • Connect with extinction rebellion and learn more. Look into volunteering with NAYA PDX or river cleanup efforts. Contact me for volunteer opportunities.
  • Find a local group to volunteer monthly with focused on green efforts in community.
  • I commit to visiting various groups and thinking @ how to coordinate action.
  • I will put effort to learn about current organization in PDX that are improving transit. I will help in the efforts of those organizations. Thank you!
  • Clean and place art at bus stop nearest my home 2x/year.
  • I plan to check out the portlandcommunitygardens.org.
  • Climate justice. Local sustainable food production where we work together as a community to grow food and share with each other. Resource protection & restoration. PDX food forest. Activate portland 3/14 tabor space.

Extinction Rebellion in Portland, Oregon – XRPDX – is a local chapter in the international Extinction Rebellion movement.
