Climate and Militarism Protest @ Blue Angels Documentary

Friday, May 17, 2024 @ 2:45-3:30 pm
Regal Theatre Lloyd Center
1510 NE Multnomah Street

The Blue Angels, a flight demonstration squadron of the US Navy, is coming to Hillsboro on Saturday,  May 18, 2024. The day before the airshow, the Blue Angels documentary will be playing at Regal Lloyd Cinema. Join us in being a visible presence outside the theater and help us do educational leafleting about the full costs of war. War is NOT entertainment.

Military airshows utilize 7200 gallons of fuel per hour and are a tremendous waste of resources for military recruitment and propaganda.  War not only kills people, but leads to the destruction of ecosystems and releases vast amounts of greenhouse gas emissions.  In addition to the horrific destruction and loss of human life, the first few months of the war in Gaza resulted in more emissions than the 20 most vulnerable nations contribute in a full year. A B52 plane uses more fossil fuels an hour than a car uses in 7 years.
