On Wednesday, January 6th, as right wing extremists ransacked the US Capitol in response to the formal Electoral College vote count, the Defend Democracy Coalition (of which XRPDX is a member) held a rapid response rally outside Portland City Hall.
While there were other incidents in state capitols across the country, this was apparently one of only a few opposition events held across the country. And that’s despite the rain.
Democracy does not exist in a vacuum, and when it’s threatened, it needs people to show up in support. The Coalition’s next major event, Inaugurate Justice, will be held on Inauguration Day, and they need you to be there. Click here for more details.
