Rumble On the River Community Forum & Action Night

Thursday, November 16th, Info Tables 6:00 PM, Panel 6:30 PM, Comment-Writing Workshop 7:15 PM @ Havurah Shalom, 825 NW 18th (x-NW Kearney), Portland

Goal: Generate Comments to DEQ and Governor Kotek. Let’s put our messages into action.
Plan: Oregon DEQ will soon open the comment period for Zenith Energy’s Air Quality Permit.
This permit is required for Zenith’s continued operations. During the past decade, public comments have been instrumental in dismissing numerous regional fossil fuel proposals. Bob Sallinger will guide us in writing to Governor Kotek, urging her to take an active role in protecting our environment. We will combine a shorter-than-usual panel session with a comment-writing workshop. We’ll distribute talking points and provide tips for writing effective comments in small table groups.
Panel: Bob Sallinger – Urban Conservation Director with Willamette Riverkeeper, Kate Murphy – Community Organizer with Columbia Riverkeeper, Nick Caleb – Climate and Energy Attorney with Breach Collective
