Climate Change Is Scary!

Next week is a critical week. Zenith Oil is expected to challenge the City of Portland’s and DEQ’s denial of their air quality permit. And it’s also the final week before COP26, the international climate talks in Glasgow, Scotland, where world leaders will be updating their countries’ Nationally Determined Contributions, meaning their emissions cuts, to show they are abiding by the Paris Climate Agreements. (Hint: They are not. And the United States is really not.) For more on goals for this climate summit, see COP26’s website.

On Saturday, October 30th at 11 am, join us in a family-friendly climate education outreach event as we, in seasonal scary costumes, handout flyers to the many people watching the Witches Paddle on the Willamette River. Meet up at S Bond & S Meade (map) before we spread out to do this outreach action. Our flyers will inform folks about what actions they can take regarding Zenith, and throughout the two weeks of COP26, October 31st through November 12th.
